Strawberries are the sweethearts of summertime! Arriving just as the school year ends, strawberries are one of the very first fruits to ripen in Michigan. Nothing compares to the taste of a fresh, juicy, sun-ripened strawberry and they are a favorite fruit to u-pick. In fact, most Michigan strawberries are picked by visitors at u-pick farms. On average, each Michigander eats about three and a half pounds of fresh strawberries each year. Yes, they're that good!
